Mitch Kapor: Path-bending and Sustainable Solutions for Social Challenges


Mitch Kapor, one of the pioneers of the personal computer industry and founder of Lotus Development corporation, Kapor Capital, and the Kapor Foundation, in converation with Laura Tyson, Haas professor, former dean, and director of the Institute for Business and Social Impact.

Drawing on his more than 30 years as an entrepreneur, software designer and investor, social activist and philanthropist, Mr. Kapor will cover a wide range of topics — the creation of path-bending and sustainable solutions for social challenges, his thoughts on the future of the shared economy, measuring the success of social impact investing, and his advice on multi-sector leadership for the next generation of leaders.

Mr. Kapor is the founder of the Kapor Center for Social Impact (formerly the Kapor Foundation) a private foundation which works to ensure fairness and equity, particularly for low-income communities of color. He is also active as a startup investor though its venture arm, Kapor Capital, which has made more than 50 investments in the past three years.
